traffics reveals two new caching engines: travel offers available in minutes and consistently accessible

With the ATCORE and EXPAND engines, traffics is rolling out two caching solutions that provide up-to-the-minute, comprehensive organiser data that can be booked in a matter of seconds.

Berlin, June 2026 – traffics, part of the Travelsoft Group, has rebuilt large parts of its caching technology and is now launching two new caching engines. Both solutions share the same objective: to prepare travel offers so that they are up-to-date, complete and bookable in real time – across all connected APIs and distribution channels. In doing so, traffics is addressing the key challenge in modern travel distribution, where prices and availability change by the minute and offers are scattered across fragmented source systems.

The ATCORE engine makes travel data from all Atcore tour operators fully available in under two minutes, immediately after the raw data has been supplied by the tour operator. This means that offers are available almost in real time across all connected distribution channels. In practice, the engine achieves an availability rate of over 98 per cent with a price change rate of well under 15 per cent.

The solution is already in productive use with a pilot client for selected travel types. Over the coming weeks, further travel types and customers will be gradually migrated to the new engine. Further expansion is also already planned for the coming months: the next step will be to incorporate the complete, uncut portfolio, including all hotels, durations, travel periods and flight alternatives, supplemented by continuous, hourly updates to the relevant sales portfolio.

The second solution is called the “EXPAND Engine” and optimises data deliveries in the older, but still widely used, INFX format. It enables tour operators not only to provide the respective best-price offer, but also the full range of alternative options – such as additional flight options, trip durations and other offer variants.

The engine enables the storage of trillions of travel offers and processes incoming data in ‘on-the-fly’ processes. This ensures that offers are available for retrieval via all connected APIs and front-ends in the shortest possible time. Furthermore, Global Types can be transferred as part of these data feeds – thereby enabling even ‘non-bookable content’ to be converted into a reliable, standardised data format. The new EXPAND engine is currently in live operation with an initial tour operator.

“With the ATCORE and EXPAND engines, we are demonstrating that comprehensive and up-to-the-minute travel offers are not a matter of chance, but a matter of architecture. Both engines are not just a vision, but are already in use.” [Marc Herrgott, CEO, traffics]
